The Bitter Truth Orange Bitters is a German cocktail flavoring built around sweet and bitter orange peel, herbs, and spices macerated in alcohol. Created for structure as well as citrus lift, it brings a concentrated orange profile to classic recipes without turning the drink into a simple sweet orange cordial.
A traditional marmalade aroma leads into cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate introduces cardamom and caraway before giving way to true orange peel oil. An initial touch of fruity sweetness is quickly balanced by elegant bitterness, creating a layered seasoning that works in small, measured dashes.
Use it to support a classic Dry Martini, or pair it with whiskey, rum, vodka, gin, and liqueurs in both classic and contemporary cocktails. This single 200 mL bottle is produced in Germany and bottled at 39% ABV, equivalent to 78 proof, for measured use behind the bar or at home.
