Privada Storytelling
Every so often, a cigar drifts into Privada’s orbit that feels less like a product and more like a time capsule. Tampa Rollers is exactly that. A cigar with nearly a decade of rest, sitting quietly in storage until the moment was right. A whisper from another era.
The brand itself is shrouded in rumor—one of its founders is said to have been an original partner of Rocky Patel, though the truth has been lost in the shuffle of time. Attempts to track down the makers turned into dead ends, and today Tampa Rollers exists mostly as a bundle brand, rolling cigars at events and selling stock that looks nothing like what you’re holding now.
What we do know: these cigars were warehoused nine years ago, tucked away by a friend of a friend, forgotten until now. What you’re smoking is a rare survivor of another age in American cigar history, with all the complexity that nearly a decade of patient rest brings. This is history in your hand—and an example of why #weareprivada exists.
Flavor Journey
-
First Third: Golden hay, charred almond, and cedar set the stage, with white pepper and florals lighting up the retrohale. There’s a richness that can only come with long rest, giving the smoke a golden, aged quality.
-
Second Third: Cedar grows stronger, balanced by light menthol and a faint berry twang that floats in and out. The hay note remains dominant, but with more structure now, more depth.
-
Final Third: The wood turns smoky, almost campfire-like, while the pepper lingers. The finish is dry, refined, and hauntingly elegant, leaving behind the unmistakable signature of true age.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Tampa Rollers is not a regular production cigar. It’s not about flashy bands, hype drops, or modern marketing. It’s a piece of lost history—an aged relic discovered and curated for the few who can appreciate it. Privada exists to bring stories like this back into the light. To remind us that behind every cigar there’s a journey, a mystery, and a moment that will never happen again.
