Wine Description:
The 2019 Settlement Vineyard Pinot Noir is a powerful and structured wine, showcasing the characteristics of the Omaka Valley. It presents a complex bouquet of ripe red berries, savoury dried herbs, and subtle oak and baking spice notes. On the palate, the wine is dense and rich, with a youthful energy that transitions smoothly through berry flavours and savoury elements, supported by firm tannins and balanced acidity. The wine is 100% Pinot Noir, specifically Clone 777, and was fermented with 50% whole bunches, contributing to its tannic backbone and ageing potential.
Food Pairing:
This Pinot Noir pairs excellently with herbed grilled lamb, duck confit, or mushroom risotto. The wine's structure and savoury notes complement the richness of these dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.
