Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery, a cornerstone of Sonoma winemaking tradition, was established in 1904 by Italian immigrant and stonemason Samuele Sebastiani. The winery has been credited with producing some of the first varietally labelled Cabernet Sauvignon in Sonoma County and holds a historic landmark status on its Mission Vineyard. After flourishing through multiple generations of the Sebastiani family, the winery was purchased by Bill Foley in 2008 and today crafts approachable, full-bodied wines that reflect the diverse terroir of Sonoma’s appellations, including Sonoma Valley, Carneros, and the Russian River Valley.
Wine Description
Sebastiani's Sonoma Chardonnay is a full-bodied and aromatic expression of the varietal. It typically exhibits a pale straw colour with shimmering golden hues. The wine opens with an inviting sensory profile of baked apple, Asian pear, and pineapple, complemented by creamy notes of vanilla and hints of brioche. On the palate, expect layers of rich butterscotch and baking spice flavours, along with citrus and tropical fruits. The texture is round, smooth, and creamy, with a balanced finish that may show lingering notes of vanilla and oak.
Food Pairing
Suggested pairings for this chardonnay include creamy pastas, grilled seafood, herb-roasted chicken, or meaty fish.
