Tasting notes: Caramel, brown sugar and milk chocolate
Las Delicias was Eleane Mierisch’s personal farm in Nicaragua, established in 2014. Following her death in 2023, her nephew Erwin ‘Wingo’ Mierisch Jackman and longtime business partner Geoconda Padilla continued managing it in her memory. With 12 hectares of coffee, it is the smallest farm in the Fincas Mierisch portfolio, carrying forward a family coffee history that spans generations.
The farm’s washed Javanica earned fourth place in Nicaragua’s 2017 Cup of Excellence. The Mierisch family’s name ‘Javanica’ refers to Java grown in Nicaragua, and this offering expresses the variety in a sweet, approachable style. Caramel, brown sugar and milk chocolate form the main tasting notes, creating a comforting profile that works across filter and espresso brewing.
