Ornellaia Poggio alle Gazze dell'Ornellaia 2022 is a complex, vibrant, and highly innovative Tuscan white wine that beautifully expresses its Mediterranean coastal terroir. In the glass, it displays an intense straw-yellow color with delicate greenish highlights. The sensory profile is highly expressive and layered, opening with bright aromas of sliced grapefruit, lemon rind, elderflower, and white peach, which gracefully evolve into herbaceous notes of lemongrass, sweet sage, tomato leaf, and mint, accented by a hint of aniseed. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a silk-textured, harmonious mouthfeel. It showcases an exceptional balance between juicy exotic fruit flavors and a vertical, racy acidity that provides wonderful brightness. The finish is remarkably long and persistent, leaving behind lingering mineral and saline undertones alongside a subtle nuance of bitter almond skin.

Pretty mineral notes of flint and crushed stone round it off. This is a tart, easy-drinking white wine that would pair with the delicious fresh seafood catch of the day found along the Tuscan coast. The wine is partially aged in new and neutral oak and cement.
