Our Merce Carme Monastrell is unique, rich, and everything you want out of a bold red wine. This delicious new vintage offers savory aromas and subtle spice accompanied by stewed dark fruit flavors. The Monastrell grape variety is indigenous to Spanish soils but is revered across the globe. Each new country that falls in love with this hardy, thick-skinned grape seems to give it a different name. The French know it as “Mourvèdre,” while New World regions often refer to it as “Mataro.” No matter the name, this grape consistently delivers stunning, sultry wines with intense flavors and tantalizing texture. Our Merce Carme represents the classic styling of this wine and the proud history of its homeland. If this is your first taste of Spanish Monastrell, we are confident it will become a wine you’re delighted to discover and proud to share.
