Meiomi Wines, established in California, is renowned for its approach of blending grapes from distinct coastal regions to craft wines with rich character and balance. The name "Meiomi" translates to "coast" in the language of the native Wappo tribe, reflecting the winery's connection to the coastal vineyards of Monterey, Santa Barbara, and Sonoma counties.
The 2021 Meiomi Chardonnay is a blend sourced from these three regions, each contributing unique characteristics to the wine. This vintage presents a pale straw color and offers an expressive bouquet featuring notes of ripe tropical fruit, honey, and baking spices. On the palate, it is smooth and opulent, with layers of stone fruit and hints of citrus and apple, leading to a well-balanced and rich finish.
Optimal Drinking Window: The 2021 Meiomi Chardonnay is crafted for immediate enjoyment and is best consumed within 1-2 years of its release to fully appreciate its fresh and vibrant flavors.
Food Pairing Suggestions: This Chardonnay pairs well with roast chicken, lobster on buttered toast, cold turkey sandwiches, and other poultry dishes.
