Junipero "Smoked Rosemary" Gin is a bold and aromatic limited-release expression from the pioneering San Francisco distillery that helped define the American craft gin movement. This variation builds on Junipero’s signature juniper-forward style, infusing it with a savory, smoky complexity through the addition of smoked rosemary, delivering a gin that's both adventurous and cocktail-ready.
🌿 Botanical Profile
-
Based on Junipero’s original recipe, known for its assertive juniper backbone and over a dozen botanicals
-
Enhanced with smoked rosemary, which adds a woodsy, grilled herb character
-
Bottled at a bold 98.6 proof (49.3% ABV) to preserve depth and aromatic lift
👃 Nose
Freshly crushed juniper berries upfront, followed by a wave of charred rosemary, pine needle, and hints of peppercorn, lemon peel, and sage. The smoke is subtle and elegant, more aromatic than campfire-heavy.
👅 Palate
Bright and spicy at first, with dominant notes of juniper, citrus, and angelica root, giving way to a savory mid-palate full of smoked herbs, green pepper, and dried bay leaf. The rosemary brings warmth and depth, like a whisper of a wood-fired grill or a windswept Mediterranean hillside.
🔁 Finish
Dry and spicy, with a lingering herbal smokiness, a touch of black tea, and a clean, bracing finish.
🍸 Best Uses
-
Incredible in a smoky Martini with a charred rosemary garnish
-
Try it in a Gin & Tonic for a savory, aromatic twist
-
Pairs beautifully with citrus in a Bee’s Knees or Negroni riff
🌟 In Summary
Junipero Smoked Rosemary Gin pushes the boundaries of traditional gin with a unique, herbal smoke profile that adds intrigue without sacrificing clarity. It’s a confident, well-crafted spirit that invites experimentation—and rewards it with every sip.
