This structured and 'crystalline' white wine originates from the United States, within the expansive California A.V.A. appellation. Produced by Josh Cellars the widely acclaimed winery established in 2007 by Joseph Carr as a tribute to his father, Josh this bottling reflects a crisp, vibrant, and approachable Golden State expression of Pinot Grigio. Sourced from choice, cool-climate vineyard sites across key coastal and valley growing regions in California, the vines thrive in well-draining sandy loam and alluvial soils. The warm daytime sun balanced by refreshing evening coastal breezes allows the grapes to achieve optimal phenolic ripeness while retaining a crisp, mouthwatering natural acidity.
Wine Description
The Josh Cellars Pinot Grigio presents a luminous, pale straw-yellow color in the glass with bright greenish-silver highlights along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and fruit-driven, delivering an energetic, crisp, and inviting portrait of California Pinot Grigio. The bouquet opens with a soaring display of green apple, juicy pear, and lemon zest, seamlessly layered with subtle underlays of white peach, orange blossom, and a clean line of crushed stone minerality. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, sleek, and athletic, showcasing a vibrant core of crunchy orchard fruit, lemon curd, and melon. It is characterized by its balanced energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of acidity that maintains crispness across the mid-palate. The mouthfeel is broad, supple, and weightless, carrying into a clean, dry, and refreshing finish accented by persistent notes of citrus peel and green apple.
