Filler: Nicaragua
Profile: Medium +
A blend of Nicaraguan Criollo '98 and Corojo '99 tobaccos, finished with a AAA Grade Corojo Rosado wrapper, the Illusione Original Documents Series showcases the elegance and complexity that have made Dion Giolito one of the most respected names in boutique cigars. Medium to full bodied and exceptionally refined, this Nicaraguan puro highlights the remarkable character of Aganorsa grown tobacco.
The Original Documents Series, of which the 89 is the most widely available expression, is built around two of Giolito's most prized varietals. Both the Criollo '98 and Corojo '99 are cultivated on Aganorsa Leaf's farms in Nicaragua and represent some of the finest puro tobaccos available to independent blenders. The AAA Grade Corojo Rosado wrapper is a pink hued Nicaraguan Corojo leaf reserved for only a small percentage of each harvest, selected for its exceptional quality and flavor.
The combination produces a deeply nuanced smoking experience layered with notes of earth, dark spice, cedar, and natural sweetness, with the Corojo Rosado adding a distinctive richness that evolves beautifully from the first third to the final draw. Balanced, complex, and unmistakably Illusione, this cigar serves as a cornerstone for understanding what has made the brand a favorite among enthusiasts seeking old world character through a Nicaraguan lens.
