Guatemala Huehuetenango - Washed Process - Medium Roast
TASTING NOTES: Chocolate | Caramel | Pineapple | Cherry
Guatemalan coffee delivers rich complexity with velvety body—chocolate and caramel sweetness balanced with bright fruit notes. This lot from Huehuetenango, one of Guatemala's most distinguished regions, showcases exactly why Guatemalan coffee works so well in both drip coffee and espresso.
What makes this Guatemalan coffee special:
Grown in Guatemala's Huehuetenango region at 1,300-2,000 meters where high altitude and volcanic soil create dense beans with layered flavors. This washed coffee delivers rich chocolate and caramel with bright pineapple, lemon, and cherry notes. Washed processing creates clean, complex flavors while preserving the velvety body Guatemalan coffee is known for. Works beautifully in drip coffee where layered flavors shine through, or as espresso with enough body and sweetness to cut through milk in cappuccinos.
Why Medium Roast for Single Origins?
We roast all single origins to a medium profile to preserve what makes each region unique. Darker roasts add roasty, caramelized flavors that can mask the distinct characteristics of different origins—the soil, altitude, and processing methods that make Brazilian coffee taste different from Ethiopian or Colombian. Medium roast lets the origin shine through. If you prefer darker, bolder coffee, check out our espresso blends and dark roast blends designed for roasty flavor.
✓ Versatile brewing: Rich enough for espresso with velvety body that works in milk drinks, bright enough for drip coffee where complex fruit and chocolate notes shine through.
✓ High-altitude complexity: Grown at 1,300-2,000 meters where cooler temperatures create dense beans with balanced acidity and layered flavors—chocolate sweetness with bright fruit notes.
