This smooth red wine originates from the United States, specifically from the California region. Gallo Family Vineyards was founded in 1933 by brothers Ernest and Julio Gallo in Modesto, California, following the repeal of Prohibition. Over more than 80 years of family ownership, the winery has grown into the largest family-owned winery in the United States and the largest wine producer in the world by volume. The winery's philosophy is rooted in a family promise to provide approachable, quality wines for every occasion, ensuring that every bottle is a reflection of their long-standing heritage and commitment to easy enjoyment.
Wine Description
Gallo Family Vineyards Merlot presents a rich ruby red colour in the glass. The sensory profile is fruit-forward and inviting, with a bouquet that features aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, and blackberry, complemented by subtle hints of mocha, vanilla, and sweet wood. On the palate, this full-bodied wine is soft and medium-dry, offering juicy flavours of dark berries and red cherry supported by gentle spice and a whisper of oak.
Stylistically, it is celebrated for its balanced mouthfeel and velvety richness. The finish is smooth and lingering, with pleasant notes of ripe fruit and a touch of warm vanilla. While crafted for immediate and easy drinking, its consistent style ensures it remains a reliable choice for casual sipping or social gatherings.
