This structured and 'crystalline' red wine originates from Italy, within the historic Chianti D.O.C.G. appellation situated in the rolling hills of sunny Tuscany. Produced under the Forzza label, this cuvée pays homage to one of the most iconic symbols of Italian winemaking heritage the traditional straw-wrapped glass bottle known as the fiasco. Originally designed by Florentine glassmakers to protect hand-blown glass during transport, the fiasco remains a beloved cultural icon representing rustic authenticity and convivial table sharing. Sourced from choice vineyard plots across the Chianti region, the vines are rooted in classic Tuscan soils rich in clay-limestone and stony marl (galestro). The sun-drenched Mediterranean climate, balanced by cool nightly breezes rolling off the Apennine Mountains, allows the Sangiovese grapes to achieve generous fruit concentration while locking in a vibrant, mouthwatering natural acidity.
Wine Description
Forzza Chianti Fiasco presents a brilliant, bright ruby-red color in the glass with lively garnet shimmers at the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and expressive, offering an inviting, fruit-forward, and traditional expression of central Tuscan red wine. The bouquet opens with a generous display of ripe sour cherries, wild red plums, and tart cranberries, seamlessly layered with delicate floral undertones of violet petals, dried oregano, sweet tobacco leaf, and a subtle touch of crushed terra cotta earth. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a vibrant core of crunchy red stone fruits, blood orange zest, and herbal nuances. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that keeps the palate refreshed and lively. The mouthfeel is energetic, smooth, and supple, framed by fine-grained, approachable tannins that carry into a clean, dry, and savory finish accented by lingering notes of cherry skin and Tuscan herbs.
