Earth Mama Organic Throat Soothie™ Tea with Elderflower is a caffeine-free, licorice-free herbal tea blend designed to soothe the throat and support comfort for the whole family, including during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
This thoughtfully crafted blend combines USDA-certified organic herbs—like slippery elm, lemon balm, and elderflower—into a gentle, lemon-kissed infusion. Formulated by a nurse and herbalist, it’s Non-GMO Project Verified and Certified Kosher, packaged as two boxes of 16 teabags each so you have a convenient supply for both home and travel. The mix is intentionally free of licorice to avoid contraindications, making it a popular pick for caregivers and parents seeking a calming herbal option.
What ingredients create the soothing effect in this tea?
The formula relies on mucilaginous and calming herbs rather than strong stimulants. Organic slippery elm provides a smooth, coating quality while lemon balm and elderflower add mild anti-inflammatory and aromatic notes. The result is a lemony, gentle cup that comforts without caffeine or licorice.
- Organic slippery elm — mucilage for throat coating and comfort
- Organic lemon balm — calming, citrusy flavor and aroma
- Organic elderflower — floral brightness and gentle support
- No licorice — safer for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and daily use
How should I prepare and enjoy Throat Soothie Tea?
Steep one teabag in hot water for 5–10 minutes for a warm, soothing cup; extend steep time for a richer texture. Alternatively, chill the brewed tea for a refreshing iced drink or blend with ice into a slushie. The tea is caffeine-free so it’s suitable any time of day.
- Hot: steep 5–10 minutes for fuller mucilage feel
- Iced: brew, cool, then pour over ice for a cold, soothing beverage
- Slushie: blend cooled tea with ice for a soothing treat
- Sweeten optionally with honey or safe sweeteners to taste
Is this tea safe for pregnant or breastfeeding people and children?
Earth Mama formulated this blend without licorice and focused on gentle, food-grade herbs to reduce common conflicts during pregnancy and nursing. While the ingredients are chosen for broad family use, consult your healthcare provider if you have specific medical concerns or take prescription medications. The product labeling and certifications support its family-friendly positioning.
