From the African Serengeti and south across the equator comes the majestic Kigelia Africana, also known as a “Sausage Tree”. The fruit from this tree resembles hanging sausage. Around Mount Kenya, especially among the Kikuyu, Embu and the Akamba, the dried fruits are used to make an alcoholic beverage which is a core component in cultural events in central Kenya. This fruit is known for its curative and purifying powers. This unique fruit is then combined with wild Irish nettle and Irish grain to create one of the purest and cleanest vodkas on the market.
Try the Sausage Tree Vodka's signature drink by adding 1.5 oz vodka to 4.5 oz soda water and a squeeze of lime. Garnish with an orange wedge.
