This structured and 'crystalline' white wine originates from Germany, within the world-famous Mosel (and Pfalz) wine regions celebrated for producing some of the most vibrant white wines on Earth. Deinhard, a historic producer founded in Koblenz in 1794 by Johann Friedrich Deinhard, represents over two centuries of German winemaking tradition and global renown. Sourced from choice vineyard slopes characterized by steep, slate-rich soils (Schiefer) along river valleys, the vines thrive in a cool continental climate. Long, gradual growing seasons with sunny daytime exposure balanced by cool nightly breezes allow the late-ripening Riesling grape to develop complex, aromatic citrus-oil and stone-fruit precursors while retaining a crisp, mouthwatering natural acidity and a distinct slate-minerality.
Wine Description
Deinhard Riesling presents a brilliant, pale straw-yellow appearance in the glass with vivid chartreuse and greenish-silver shimmers at the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and expressive, delivering a classic, highly energetic portrait of German Riesling. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of fresh green apple, white peach, and ripe juicy pear, seamlessly layered with delicate floral undertones of jasmine, lemongrass, orange blossom, and a signature line of crushed slate and wet stone minerality. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a vibrant core of crunchy orchard fruits, lemon zest, and subtle apricot. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that cuts cleanly through the palate, creating an off-dry to dry textural dynamic with a perfectly balanced, barely perceptible touch of residual fruit sweetness. The mouthfeel is weightless, athletic, and supple, carrying into a long, clean, and refreshing finish accented by lingering notes of lime peel and mineral drive.
