From the United States, this rosé hails from Oregon’s renowned Willamette Valley, specifically the Chehalem Mountains subregion. Chehalem Winery, established in 1990 and now part of the Stoller Wine Group, is known for its focus on sustainable practices and expressive Pinot Noir. The winery highlights terroir-driven wines that showcase the purity and vibrancy of Oregon fruit.
Wine Description
This rosé is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, fermented predominantly in stainless steel with small portions in concrete eggs and neutral French oak to enhance texture. In the glass, it shines a delicate salmon pink. Aromas of fresh garden strawberries, grapefruit pith, and subtle floral notes of hydrangea and rose petal lead the bouquet. On the palate, it is bright and elegant, offering crisp citrus, tart red berry, and hints of stone fruit, with a smooth body and a juicy, quenching finish. The high natural acidity and minerality ensure freshness and balance, making it a lively yet refined expression of Oregon rosé.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs beautifully with summer salads, fresh goat cheese, grilled salmon, or herb-roasted chicken. Its lively acidity also complements Asian dishes with ginger and citrus elements. A perfect match to enhance the wine’s complexity.
