Château de Montfaucon Châteauneuf-du-Pape 'Cuvée Bimard' originates from the Southern Rhône Valley in France, produced under the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC. While the estate’s historic castle and primary vineyards sit across the river in Montfaucon, proprietor and winemaker Rodolphe "Rudi" de Pins crafts this targeted cuvée from a select 3.5-hectare parcel of old vines situated directly on the renowned terraces of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estate is widely admired for its Burgundian-inspired approach, prioritizing finesse, purity, and floral elegance over heavy extraction.
Wine Description
In the glass, Cuvée Bimard exhibits a bright, luminous ruby colour with subtle garnet highlights. The nose opens with an inviting bouquet of wild raspberries, red cherries, and dried cranberries, accented by fragrant violet floral notes, garrigue herbs, hints of cured leather, and subtle baking spices. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, distinguished by its silky texture and fine, chalky tannins. The vibrant acidity breathes exceptional freshness into layers of ripe plum, kirsch, and cocoa notes, leading to a balanced, savory finish marked by hints of graphite and peppery spice.
