Casa Dragones Blanco is a small-batch silver tequila made from 100% blue agave. The brand debuted in 2009, and the Blanco followed in 2014. Co-founder Bertha González Nieves was the first woman certified as a Maestra Tequilera. She started the brand with media executive Bob Pittman.
The tequila is made in Jalisco, Mexico. The brand's home base is in San Miguel de Allende. The team uses steam and water to pull the juice from the agave. The Tequila Regulatory Council has named this one of the most efficient and sustainable ways to make tequila. Pure spring water rich in minerals goes into every batch. Each batch is capped at about 500 bottles.
Every bottle is finished by hand. It's labeled, numbered and signed, so you can see the care that went into it.
Pour a glass and you'll see bright, crystal-clear tequila with clear legs. The nose is fresh and herbal, with grapefruit and green apple. The first sip shows semi-sweet agave, warmed by pepper and a touch of clove. The body feels full and smooth. The finish is crisp and light, with a hint of almond and a bright aftertaste.
Epicurious named it Best Blanco Tequila, and Food & Wine listed it among its top ten blancos. Casa Dragones suggests you serve it on the rocks in an old-fashioned glass. Add a twist of lime, grapefruit or lemon. It also makes a polished margarita.
Choose it when you want a clean blanco for slow sipping. Comparing brands? Browse our Casamigos range too.
