Casa 1921 Extra Añejo presents a richly-matured and elegantly balanced 100% agave tequila, offering honeyed sweetness, toasted oak depth and smooth, polished texture. It's a well-crafted sipping tequila for those seeking sophistication beyond the blanco or reposado category.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Produced in Jalisco, Mexico by Casa 1921, this expression is made from 100% Blue Weber agave. After traditional roasting and fermentation, the tequila is aged in oak barrels (with sources stating an average of three years or more) and bottled without additives. The brand emphasises purity, hand-craftsmanship and giving the agave its full voice through the extra añejo process.
Tasting Profile
-
Nose: Warm honeyed sweetness greets the glass, followed by vanilla bean, gentle spice and subtle caramel tones. There are hints of cinnamon, toasted nut cream and soft oak.
-
Palate: Smooth and silky texture, cooked agave sweetness leads, then balanced with medium-toasted wood, soft caramel and a swirl of subtle toast and nutty cream.
-
Finish: Gentle and lingering, the end carries a mild oak note, residual sweetness of honey and caramel and maintains the agave character rather than being overwhelmed by wood.
