Capensis is a family of three wines dedicated exclusively to Chardonnay. The name Capensis is taken from the Latin word meaning “from the Cape,†and pays homage to their home in South Africa, one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world. The ancient soils, dramatic landscapes and historic vineyards of Stellenbosch, Overberg and Robertson are the foundation for Capensis, which honors the greatness of South
Africa. Winemaker Graham Weerts has carefully selected the finest Chardonnay vineyards within the Western Cape to create these expressive wines. Capensis Western Cape Chardonnay is a culmination of eight remarkable vineyards – a balanced, layered, and complex translation of the region’s varied terroir. Tangerine marmalade and Fuji apple aromatics lead you to a rich, mineral palate lifted by lime citrus and bright salinity. While drinking beautifully now, this world-class Chardonnay will gain ever more complexity in your cellar.
