The Bitter Truth Pink Gin is a sophisticated modern interpretation of a classic maritime cocktail, blending premium traditionally-crafted gin with a carefully designed blend of aromatic bitters. Created by Munich bartenders Stephan Berg and Alexander Hauck—founders of The Bitter Truth bitters empire—this expression honors the Royal Navy tradition of mixing gin with bitters to combat seasickness, while delivering genuine complexity and refinement for contemporary palates. Bottled at 40% ABV, it features a Mediterranean botanical profile of juniper, lemon, and warm spices balanced with licorice, caraway, and fennel for a fresh, spiced character that avoids harsh or overpowering notes.
On the nose, it opens with aromatic juniper, citrus, and hints of floral spice, while the palate reveals layers of subtle complexity—juniper remains the foundation, supported by notes of licorice, black pepper, and hints of strawberry and vanilla that finish with a touch of salted caramel sweetness. The result is a gentle yet layered gin that bridges the gap between a classic dry gin and a true pink gin cocktail in a bottle.
Perfect served neat or on the rocks with a lemon peel, The Bitter Truth Pink Gin shines in a Martini, offers a spiced twist on a Gin & Tonic, or can be mixed into any cocktail calling for gin and bitters. Whether you're appreciating its historical heritage or exploring its nuanced flavor profile, this expertly-crafted expression proves that pink gin is far more than a novelty—it's a sophisticated spirit worthy of serious appreciation.
