A smoother matcha starts with the right whisk.
Bring the matcha ritual home with our bamboo matcha whisk. Also known as a chasen, this traditional Japanese-style tea tool helps blend matcha powder with water, break up clumps, and create a delicate layer of foam.
Whether you’re preparing a traditional bowl of matcha or the base for your favourite iced latte, it’s an essential addition to your matcha routine.
Why you’ll love it
- Smooth mixing: Helps disperse matcha powder evenly in water.
- Delicate foam: Fine bamboo tines help create a light, frothy surface.
- Easy to use: Whisk by hand with no batteries or electricity.
- Versatile preparation: Make traditional matcha or a smooth base for hot and iced lattes.
How to use
- Briefly soak the bamboo tines in warm water to soften them.
- Sift your matcha into a wide bowl and add warm water.
- Whisk briskly in a small “M” or “W” motion until smooth and lightly frothy.
- Enjoy as is, or pour into your favourite milk for a matcha latte.
Use a light touch and avoid pressing the tines against the bottom of the bowl.
Care instructions
Rinse with warm water immediately after use and gently remove any remaining matcha. Shake off excess water and allow the whisk to air-dry completely in a ventilated area.
- Do not place in the dishwasher.
- Avoid prolonged soaking.
- Let it dry fully before storing in an enclosed container.
- A matcha whisk holder can help maintain its shape.
- Replace it if the tines become broken or splintered.
