Acrobat Pinot Gris originates from the United States, specifically from the Oregon region, which spans the Willamette, Umpqua, and Rogue Valleys. Originally established as a sister label to King Estate, the brand is now part of the Foley Family Wines portfolio. The winemaking philosophy is centered on 'approachable purity,' aiming to produce high-quality wines that consistently pair with casual meals and everyday adventures through sustainable winemaking practices.
Wine Description
This white wine is described as fresh and brilliant, offering a medium-bodied mouthfeel. The sensory profile features a fruit-forward nose of pear, passion fruit, and honeydew melon, which carries through to the palate. It is characterized by pleasant minerality and nicely balanced acidity, concluding with a crisp and spirited finish. Some critics also note complex aromatic layers of cut grass, guava, and warm banana bread.
Varietal Composition: A blend of 96% Pinot Gris and 4% Chardonnay.
ABV: 13%.
Organic Status: While Acrobat emphasizes sustainable winemaking and works with marquee vineyard sites, this specific bottling is generally classified as sustainably produced rather than certified organic.
Stylistic Notes: The wine is designed to capture the best attributes of Oregon, focusing on bright acidity and a shiny, mineral-rich tone from start to finish.
